COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer Cuvée des Jacobins is unblended old lambic, aged for at least 18 months in (French) oak barrels from the cognac region. These oak barrels are called ’Foeders’ in Dutch. It has a robust character but is beautiful and sophisticated with a full body and overtones of vanilla, dried cherry, stone fruit and cocoa. It is a complex, beautiful sour beer.

Such an enjoyable sour ale. Amazing sweet/sour balance of flavor. Rich orange candied sour notes that seem to continue forever. Dark cherry notes with some vanilla on the finish. Really good. Highly recommended.

From a 11.2 oz bottle aged at least 5 years. Pours copper brown with hardly any head. Aroma of balsamic vinegar, cherries, citrus zest. Modest carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of tart cherries, vinegar, slight lemon, subtle wood. Overall flavorful, refreshing, smooth yet tantalizing and tasty for the style.

Slight haze, reddish-brown, thin bubbly head. Oaky nose, slight balsamic, touch of dried dark fruits. A bit thin, but some nice oaky notes, dark fruits, touch of lactic acidity in the finish.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Clear dark ruby color with a white head. Aroma is very sour, backed-up by caramel, cherries and wood. Very very sour, moderately sweet. Medium body.

0.33 l bottle from former ’Firma Bier’, best before September 2017, cellared for two years. Clear, deep red with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Slightly sweetish, moderately sourish, rather fruity aroma of sour cherries, caramel, red grapes, massive oak and balsamic vinegar. Slightly sweetish, quite sour, fruity and quite woody taste of lots of oak, caramel, balsamic vinegar, sour cherries, red grapes and some bitter almond, followed by a medium long, rather tart, very woody-dry and vinous finish. Medium body, moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Rather intense and complex, but also refreshing and tasty Flemish Red. Quite vinegary, but not out of balance, overall a delicious beer.

Bottle from Saveur beer. Pours cherry red with little to no head. Aroma is berries, cherry, earthy wood background. Flavour is is dry tart green grape skin sour with a cherry fruit background. Lovely rounded tart finish. Lasting dry white wine finish. Lovely beer.

Piana średnio obfita, szybko opada do chmurki. Barwa rubinowo czerwona, klarowna.

Dark brown beer with a huge beige foam. Sour and sweet berry/cherry aroma. Balanced sourness, cherries in the flavor. Quite tasty and not overwhelming.

Hopped and light. Bottled at dusty's. Crisp mouthfeel that doesn't linger too long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
