COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer Cuvée des Jacobins is unblended old lambic, aged for at least 18 months in (French) oak barrels from the cognac region. These oak barrels are called ’Foeders’ in Dutch. It has a robust character but is beautiful and sophisticated with a full body and overtones of vanilla, dried cherry, stone fruit and cocoa. It is a complex, beautiful sour beer.

Great nose, proper color, perfect amount of sour taste, clean finish, what more could you ask for in a sour.....too bad I got the last pour before the keg blew.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cerveza con tonos cítricos, alto nivel de acidez y un color marrón muy intenso. Tienes notas aromáticas a Eno y cuero, toques de tierra húmeda y vainilla. Una cerveza muy bien lograda en su estilo y de sabor complejo. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared at home. Clear dark brown with offwhite head. Sour grapes, raisans, dried cherry, vinegar, balsamic, oak, some cardboard. Relentless sour with sweetened edges. Medium body and soft carbonation. Too much biting acid for my joy.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Clear reddish brown with small beige head. Lots of sour red fruits, oxidized notes, prunes, sweet balsamico, light flowery. Quite sour, light sweet and very light bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Simple but effective, I like it!

33cl bottle. Pours red/mahogany with a thin head. Sour aroma with red berries, apples, cherries and some vinegar notes, Flavor is tart with green apples, wood and cherry notes. The finish has some sweet notes, but still this beer is very dry. High carbonation. WOW!

W aromacie jabłko, lekka wanilia, owocowość, wiśnie. W smaku owocowe, ocet, jabłko, lekka beczka w tle. Jest bardzo kwaśne ale wciąż przyjemne w odbiorze.

330ml bottle. 6/1/17 production date. Appearance: Deep ruby red color, clear, with a thick frothy khaki colored foam cap and decent lacing. Aroma: Rich dark cherry notes with a hint of vanilla and a noticeable acidity Taste: Dark cherry and light toasted maltiness underneath an aggressively tart green apple sourness that is strong and puckering. Mouthfeel: Light bodies with a brisk carbonation. Finish: Strong tart apple dominates long after the swallow. Overall: Top notch take on a Flanders Red. Strong dark fruit notes and a very aggressive sourness that isn’t astringent. Beautiful deep ruby red appearance with an aggressive head and lacing for a beer of this acidity. Hints of vanilla and green apple
