F: medium size, white, average retention. C: pale gold, clear. A: malty, bit caramel, bit herbal, bit bready. T: malty, grainy, sweet herbal, bit yeast, medium body and carbonation, one of the “better” pilsener beer here in Belgium, 25cl bottle from Prik & Tik Leuven.

Piepenhenrich (1195) - Steinbach, GERMANY - SEP 9, 2017
Labeled as a Pils, being a Lager at best, this is one of the many Belgian Lagers that I find disappointing, but that is probably because there are so many much better beers available there.

Dégustée sur la Grand’Place d’Ypres (B). Une pils basique, assez plate. Désaltérante en été, légère et mieux qu’un verre d’eau, c’est le principal.

Drunk from 33cl bottle from the beer discovery project. Classical pils style beer.

Bue à la pression. Pils jaune très pale. Peu de gout, peu d’arômes, peu d’intérêt. Beurk

Draft glass @ Quinten Matsijs. Clear very sparkling golden, collapsing industrial head. Nose is sharp pale lager, vegetables, less cooked very sharp green, interesting with a big mineral profile, served quite cold. Higher carbonation, very clean sharp, cold bodied, very drinkable. Taste is very mineral in an itneresting way, clear metallic, grain, sharp green vegetables, more mineral than your average pale lager, low grain, vegetables almost don’t bother. Sharp taste & interesting metallic profile, probably the best pale lager that I have had so far. I get the love for this beer.

nutjes (1189) - Zwevegem, BELGIUM - OCT 4, 2016

Draft at Quinten Matsijs. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of light grain, light malt and light fruity hops. Flavour is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Clear pale yellow colour with thin lacy head. Aroma and flavour are very bland. Watery texture. Not bad tasting just bland.
