Chunky mahogany colored pour. Big off-white, almost tan, head. Big lacing as it slowly dies down. Perfumy rose aroma mixed with malt. Some corn in there as well. Peppery corn malt flavor. Not good. Finishes as bad as it tastes. KingCecil (2084) - DENMARK - OCT 28, 2011

Bottle, 75cl corked, at De Heeren van Liedekercke. It’s an unclear, brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick, off-white to beige head leaving lacings. Cellar, prune notes, hints of chocolate and Belgian yeast as well as some caramel on the nose. The flavor is sweet, with chocolate and caramel hints, prunes and a fine hoppyness giving some bitterness. Full body, smooth and nicely carbonated. Mostly sweet in the end, but with bitterness trying to bring balance. A really pleasant one. 110501 beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - JUL 14, 2011
Bottle. Pours a nice dark copper color with a frothy eggshell colored head. Aroma is of banana, lighter fruits, spice like allspice, pepper and coriander, along with some honey notes. The flavor is again of spice notes like coriander, clove and pepper, along with the lighter fruits and banana, along honey, caramel and some breadiness. The body is light to medium with a chalky and dry mouthfeel. Overall a pretty solid Belgian Strong Dark Ale, I would love to go visit the Heeren van Liederkercke resturant sometime. 750 ml bottle @ Heeren van Liederkercke. Amber body with a fine off-white head. Aroma is malt, spices, burnt sugar and asparagus. Flavor is sweet and sour, malt, karamel, pepper, bitter and light oxidation. Medium body. A bit unusually and might be over the top, but otherwise quite OK.

First rating: Big beige head. Brown body. Spicy dried fruit and flowers aroma with herbal licorice notes. Delicate and elegant. Dry-sweetish caramelly licorice coriander taste with herbal spicy notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Light body. Dry spicy chocolatey aftertaste with peppery honey notes. Buttery finish. Nice, delicate, well-balanced. Highly drinkable. (0.75l bottle @ de Heeren van Liederkercke.) 7,4,7,3,14=3.5
Second rating: Medium beige head. Hazy deep brownish red body. Spicy fruity seeds of paradise aroma, very vivid, with licorice notes. Dry spicy licorice and cinnamon taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish spicy licorice and seeds of paradise aftertaste with rock sugar notes. Lingering butterscotch. Nice, vivid, crazy clean, very drinkable. (0.33l bottle at Heeren van Liedekercke, Belgium.)
Zudem hefig, nussig, abgerundet. Genussbier! 9/12/12/13/12/12

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at De Heeren van Liedekercke) I had this beer with food that was prepared with the same beer. This dark brown beer was quite complex. Aroma had fruitiness, spiciness, hops, chocolate and malts. Palate was full bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, aniseed, spiciness, fruitiness, hops, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste had aniseed and malts. Rarely have I had beer with so many flavours that still match. I enjoyed drinking this.
