Een heel lekker bier met een wat speciale smaak, mij beviel het enorm goed. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 2, 2005
(Bottled) Opaque dark brown color with a small head. Somewhat caramely-malty, fruity and hoppy aroma. Quite fruity, very malty, sweetish and hoppy flavor. Medium to full-bodied palate with quite a low carbonation. A very nice, quite full-bodied and enjoyable brew. fiulijn (20491) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 8, 2007
Cloudy brown color. The aroma is malty, with caramel and delicate roasted malt. Very good body structure; malt flavor, caramel, roasted malt, with sweetness and a hint of liquorice. It ends very balanced, with caramel and chocolate, good bitterness and some alcohol warmth. Very good. Holmen1 (5867) - Stavanger, NORWAY - FEB 21, 2013

In 1798 there was a war called De Boerenkrijg which means the Farmers War. In Overmere there is a monument called the Pauw en Gijselinck. In short called by the people Pa en Gijs (Father and Guy). This beer was brewed in memory of this war. The aroma is spicy with some raisin. Dark brown coloured with beautiful head. But some yeast floating around. It’s soft and firm with spices and good hops. The finish is more hopbitter. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Cloudy, orangey golden with a pretty small head. Fruity, honeyish nose and a bit low in carbonation. Very full-bodied with the honey spilling into the flavour. Sweet indeed but not cloying and actually the (official) alcohol is surprisingly low considering the sugar - I bet it’s actually higher. A very well made artisanal brew. 081098 Bontus (800) - Flanders, BELGIUM - MAR 2, 2008

Nice beer with a tasty base of herbs and speculaas. Good that they didn’t overdo the sweetness. Holmen2 (3630) - NORWAY - MAR 15, 2014
Dark amber, moderate beige head that diminishes to nothing. Caramel-sweet aroma. Prunes and toffee. Taste is smilar, but well balanced with bitterness
