Very beautiful in appearance, with a quite good off-white head and a dark amber colour. Dried fruits (grape), caramel and coriander in the nose, well balanced between sweetness and acidity. Medium body. Complex enough to be interesting.
14-OCT-2016, bottle @Ulkløbben tasting, @Michael.
Slightly hazy, light Brown with a huge tan head.
Very sweet. Huge carbonation, spicy for a belgian ale. Very metallic sweet. Hamirubi (586) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - SEP 29, 2016
33cl bottle at Biermuseum Ertvelde, Evergem (18 IX 2016), drank in the companion of my girlfriend and Alengrin. The latter claims having seen the notorious wolf of the Waasland, an allegedly sheep killer of that region giving its name to this Boelens Waase Wolf brew. It is one of the regional urban legends of our time, dating from the year 2000. But okay... This wolf beer colours dark amber, even reddish, and makes up for an almost foamless, somehow hazy or cloudy wheat triple. The nose is quite interesting, with keen hop references making the aroma a that fruity. There are malt notes in there too, adding sweet scents. The medium carbonation adds to the pleasant mouthfeel with little malts. These grant a caramel touch to the ale. The lovely hops character gives the beer a fruity, passiflora fruit dash. Think even of tasteful mandarin oranges. The body itself is rather watery, without being flat, adding a fairly lingering, strong effect to the finish. I read a lot of stories of infected batches, yet I believe these troubles are all in the past. For this is an enjoyable brew for sure, with steady aroma and taste. Very good solid beer. Full mouthfeel, large heas and good carbonation. Light bitter, strong taste. Will drink again, but cannot compete w/ the beers after the revolution. jamaty (2118) - Madrid, SPAIN - APR 14, 2016
Dorada muy gaseosa de exagerada espuma. Aroma lacteo y agrio. En boca confirma el exceso de gas. Sabor de base malteada, y tono ácido. Dificll.

Wheaty high register nose; Spice (coriander, maybe a little cinnamon); faint orange (peel). Body quite thick/oily and more toffee malt, and peachiness.

2/8/2009 7:35:09 AM Bier Koning. Hazy orange with way too much head. Lost half my beer in the bubbles. Fruity and spicy nose. Taste of apples, yeast, spices. A bit of cardboard in the end. Typical but not really my thing. Icedwarf (1627) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - AUG 30, 2015
Troebel lichtbruin bier met veel schuim. Smaak is zoetzuur en fruitig met iets van gember en kaneel. Apart maar erg goed. Smaak blijft lang hangen. jmgreenuk (9319) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - AUG 29, 2015
Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is red berry citrus yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light citrus, big woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
