Bottle 330ml - given to me by a bar owner in Veurne It has a biscuity toffee nose with the slightest hint of cereals and floral hops. It pours a medium amber with a very thin head that disappears after a couple of swigs. Taste wise this beer is sweet fruity malts giving way, through a slight smokiness into a slightly bitter and dry finish. Love this for a Belgian beer. Reminds me solidly of Veurne - any town with that many bars in a small square rocks by my reckoning!!

(Bottle, Cambrinus, Brugge, 17 July 2012) Golden colour with brief, white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, herbs and a touch of toast. Malty, fruity taste with notes of toast, dried fruit, apricots, a touch of bread and a certain sweetness in a finish with a mild bitterness. Medium body. Quite nice and tasty.

33cl Brown bottle, with one week left before its best before date (31st Jan 2010). Poured into a stemmed tulip ’Corsendonk’ glass. Plenty of sediment in the bottle, managed to pour the beer without it getting into the glass. The beer was therefore a misty golden yellow in colour, good white head on top. Loads of bubbles rising through the brew. Sweet and sour aromas, some toffee esters, yeast also within the smell. Thetaste is a blend of many flavours, a toffee sweetness at first, mixed with some caramel. Then a steadying yeast and spice combination which turns the beer into a more interesting prospect altogether. A very nice beer indeed, will look for it again when I next visit Belgium.

Orange clear beer with thin head that slowly disappears. Aroma: sweet/mandarin/bitter. The basic taste (scale from 1 to 5): sweet:1, sour:1, bitter:2. The aftertaste: sweet:2, sour:1, bitter:1, also a flavour of liquorice in the finish.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and wet hay. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and alcohol, leading to a lightly bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
