Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, licorice, alcohol, mold, old cellar, soil, paper, burnt toast. Medium bitterness, harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Meh!
75cl (brygget 21/1/2015, bb07/2016) courtesy of trade by bursprak, tak skal du have. - What an experience visiting this one-man-, fully-hands-on-operated brewery was, convincing anyone that a traditional ale ecan asily transcend any modern style once the house/site character prescribes harvesting and malting all grains on-site and not using pressure pumps or pipes. - Mahogany cofffeebrown pour, decent cream cap. Smells like mild rum-doused tobacco leaves, blue grape juice, muscovado milkshake with a touch of woody (all)spice. Taste quite mild and balanced as well, adding in blue grape peel to the obvious liquorice root and muscovado espresso. Very manageable, elegant dry sweetness sealed by a modern bitterness. Less sweet and lighter in mouthfeel than expected considering the slowbrewing techniques used on the full-grain malt bill, with quite a clean yeast profile only hinting at UK mild, Cascadian Dark and Belgian ale. Suave food pairing stuff. Holmen1 (6666) - Stavanger, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2013
Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 2, 2012
Dark brown color. Floral spicy nose with raisins and oranges. Caramel and licorice. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 22, 2012
Draught (as Nr 204)@CPH Beer Fest 2011. Murky brown colour with a small head. Aroma is liquorice, some slight herbal and grassy notes with mild yeast and some sweetness. Flavour is a bit tart fruits, liquorice, some slight soapy and yeasty notes as well. A bit messy.

Copenhagen Beer Festival, May 2012. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Fruity and malty aroma with a faint roasted note. Dry and fruity flavour with a roasted note - maybe a hint of dark malt acidity Nocturne (2238) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2012
Sample as Nr 0281 at Ølfestival 2012. Black with little head. A little smoke and coffee in the aroma. There’s cola, berries and some cold coffee in the taste, but what fascinates me more is how unique and unusual the beer seems, even if it’s hard to decipher why this is the case. To taste it is like stepping back into the past. Just a shame that there doesn’t seem to be much liquorice and caramel as advertised. As my first experience with a Bøgedal beer it probably wasn’t the best one to pick from their lineup, but it’s left me wanting more from this idiosyncratic brewery. brnandersen (4344) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 13, 2012

Aroma is rather light with sourness and distant licorice notes. A bit thin and watery palate. Flavour is bitter in a harsh way with some licorice and hints of solvent. A bit contaminated and not good.
Sampled at CBF11
Spicy with notes of wormwood. Low bitterness.
