Pours lightly muddy dark brown with a small, fizzy, cola-beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, light herbal liqourice, roasted malts, chocolate and a little coconut. Highish carbonation, fine and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour is light grainy, softly vinious, chocolate, light liqourice, soft hops. A touch roasted. Light sweetness. Very well-composed and elegant.

Pours clear, opaque black with slight brownish edges. Small, beige film head. Aroma is sweet, some chocolate, light liqourice and coffee. Light carbonation, good dry mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, lots of coffee notes at first. Then liqourice and chocolate burst in to balance it well. Long lingering bitterness with a slight herbal edge to it.

Pours utterly dark brown with a big, creamy, beige head. Super duration. Wonderful aroma with sweet liqourice, milky chocolate. Super lovely, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is really nice, light dryness, sweet chocolate, soft liqourice, weakly roasted. Truly elegant and balanced. YUM!

Brown, low head.
It is brown ale like with chocolate and liqourice, and almost liqout-like tones.
Almost no carbonation but fine creaminess. A little watery, not very bitter. Overall a little dissappointing. Come on, Kasper. Usually better:-)
...and why categorized as traditional ale? It seems like most (or all?) Bøgedal beers are categorized here. Finn (7547) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 12, 2010

750ml bottle as Bøgedal nr. 177, 5% ABV, bought at Vinmonopolet Briskeby in Oslo and carried back home for Yuletide festivity. Mahogany body with a tiny fawn, coloured head. Aroma of anise and chocolate malts. Sweet black malts in flavour joined by liquorice acidity and a little spicy touch. Herbal bitter endnotes. Well balanced with a pleasant mouth feel (shared at a Romjuls party, Tromsø 27.12.2009). HenrikSoegaard (14237) - Randers, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2009

Bottle. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, hops and fruits.
Biggish brown head quickly shrinks. Opaque black body goes lighter at edges. Roasty chocolatey aroma with earthy coffee notes. Sweet, and faintly acidic, earthy roasty chocolatey taste with vinegary coke notes. Full-bodied. Round smooth mouthfeel, very low on carbonation. Dryish-sweetish roasty citrusy hoppy aftertaste. Quite nice, even if I’m not too into the vinegar part. Perhaps also a bit sweet. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly, Briskeby.) EHSRanders (2059) - Tjele, DENMARK - SEP 19, 2009
