Originally rated on 6/2/08. One of the better mexican beers out there.(for what thats worth) Golden in color, thin head, tastes a little grainy with slightly sweet malt flavor. o.k. finish, not much aftertaste. I have to say it was better than i expected.

Bottle at a restaurant in London. Poured golden with a small white head. Light malty aroma with some floral and citrus notes. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Light body, slight creaminess to texture. Malty finish. It’s ok.

Bottle, consumed in the hotel room in Playa del Carmen with Don Sirloin takeaway. Deepish yellow hint of gold. This has a touch more backbone and less grim corn than most Mexican lagers. Some proper malt and an elusive waft of hop flavour, if still lacking bitterness. Not terrible.

A sweet malt aroma, pours a tamarind color with no real head. A sweet malt and tamarind taste with a watery feel and a sweet malt finish.

When I was living in Mexico, it was one of my favourite beer "apart of some local beers". It is a typical light pils not too bad. The colour is clear yellow, light foam and regular carbonation. There is a nice mix of malt and some hops. It is a decent beer, unfortunately heineken bought it. In South America and in Mexico like in Switzerland are two or three big groups eating the business, fortunately that some new brewers make betters products but for Mexican and Peruvian people are too expensive.

Bottle from Cafe Azteca, Lawrence MA. Appearance is clear light brown with small head and mild sparkle. Aroma is mild bready malts. Taste is as nose--straightforward pleasant mild malty sweetness. Palate is light bodied with thin texture and average to lively carbonation. Overall, not bad in the context of mild beers you would have at a Mexican restaurant. On par with Dos Equis Amber and slightly below Negra Modelo but above others.

I like this brew on hot Mexican day fishing. Clear orange great carbonation. Pretty malty for light Mexican brew. Really flavorful for a light Mexican lager as well.
