Pours clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a small khaki head. The aroma has mildly roasted malt, cream, milk nuttiness, some apple and non-bitter coffee. The body is medium/light with some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with roasted malt, nuts, pear, mild sourness and cream. The finish has some spice, minerals and medicine. I got them shortly after it got to my local shop, but it seems there was some age on it before it hit the shelves for sale, but there is not dating on the bottle to be sure.

thegreenrooster (4280) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 27, 2012
Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a little burnt malt and some caramel. Flavor is more burnt malt with heavier than average malty backbone for a Czech dark lager. This one is better than average with enough flavor to carry it. I’m sure all the beers I’ve had from this brewer are much better fresh in Czech.

inbirraveritas (1552) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 25, 2012
Dark brown one with a loosy beige head. Malty nose and aroma ruled by caramel and vanilla underpainted gently by roasted malt and dried fruits. Slick, moderate oily texture. Dry and somewhat fruity finish escorted by roasted malt and grassy hops. Good.

iammarc (385) - Inverness, SCOTLAND - JUN 22, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours flat, very dark reddish brown colour. Void of any real outstanding aroma. Sweet, juniper finish. Rubbery smooth palate. Okay, but a little sickly.

tomer (3375) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - MAY 30, 2012
Bottle, small bubbly head, very deep brown colour and quite opaque, aroma of dark bread and dried fruits, same traits continue in the flavour with some hints of charred wood, quite sour in an unpleasant kvass like way. A bad schwarzbier.

kingstoni (2037) - FINLAND - APR 25, 2012

tmrmwel (1970) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours a dark, redly brown, with a small airy head. Aroma is burned malts, with notes of syrup and some dark fruits. Flavour is a sweetly, lightly burned malt, with syrup, candi sugar and dark fruits, giving it an almost port wine-ishness. Good sweet finish.

ClubGonzo (5646) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 5, 2012
Bottle from Centra Colosseum, Oslo, shared with BBGTC. Aroma is malt caramel and hints of toffee. Taste is caramel, deep malts, hints of paper and toffee. Very one-dimensional and bordering on a dunkel IMO, but not hideous.

JanLaursen (3227) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 18, 2011
Bottle, 50 cl: Clear red brown beer with a frothy but very short living tan head. Aroma is quite malty, slightly roasted with hints of grass. Medium sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Light body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Faultless, drinkable and boring.
