Don’t be fooled by the name—meaning “black” in Czech, “Cherny” refers to the color of this German-style Schwarzbier brewed true to the regional style of northern Bavaria. Dark roasted & aromatic malts combined with minimal hopping creates a wonderful beer with subtle hints of coffee and chocolate.

Not a style that I care for, but it’s drinkable pours dark very little head a little heavy on the palate.

On tap @ Bohemian. Very dark brown with a thick khaki head. Definitely buttery and sort of on the acidic side. Lots of roast, a bit of caramel, and ash. Some burnt toast and lots of grass. Maybe a touch of olive flavor. Sort of a black cherry soda and acidic raisin/grape. Not as good as their others.

Can. A black beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, bread, and caramel, leading to a dry finish.

12 ounce can from Smith’s grocery in Park City, UT. A bit of smoke and dark chocolate in the aroma. Clear dark body that appears black but is really deep mahogany with a finely laced tan head. There’s a strong sour/tart note up front in the taste that eventually fades into a dark roasted bitterness with some cocoa and dark chocolate that’s nice. Finish is light and watery which is expected with 4% ABV. I’m confused by the labeling though. It says "Bock" but underneath that is says "Schwarzbier". This is definitely much more of a Schwarzbier than a bock, so I’m not sure what they were going for.

Draft @ brewery. Roasty/toast malt aroma. Deep mahogany with a large beige head. Roasty malt and light acidic flavor. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation.

Dark fruit , spice and bready notes dominate the nose and flavor. Maybe a little cherry? Light hopping and definitely sweet leaning. Enjoyable fo sho...😁"
