UPDATED: DEC 5, 2016 Draft at the brewery. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cracker), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), with notes of minerals and straw/hay. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Well, shucks. I’ve had three draft samples of this now and the quality is all over the place...3.9 at the brewpub on Friday, 2.2 garbage at Beerhive over the weekend, and 3.4 at the brewpub today. This seems to jive with overall impressions from their other beers...e.g., my friend Jeff had a very solid sample of the Dort, but mine (bought at the brewpub) was horrible. As with so many breweries in the world (including Germany), this place just doesn’t have the consistency factor (yet?). You may luck out with a great sample of this, or it might just be ok, or it might be terrible. 3fourths (9347) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 28, 2016
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2016 From can it’s filtered gold with a lasting white head. Clean, floral-citric noble hop aroma comes across as honeysuckle, lemon, apricot nectar, spicy touches of black fennel; clean fermentation provides clarity for hop and malt (which imparts a baked baguette toastiness), while the yeast imparts a subtle sulfur-mineral quality. Off-dry, hoppy and bitter, light-bodied but fluffy with a fun bounce of carbonation, finishing fruity and juicy with a small bit of pineapple twang that I didn’t get from tap (better carbonation and balance than the cans, going from memory). Canned 6/29/16, so age may be a factor, but even so it’s still in fine shape. bytemesis (8438) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - NOV 16, 2016

a well done Pilsner. You can tell they took their time on this one. Not hoppy. Sweet hiding low abv. This is the taste of Europe. Spot on.
