Our Altbier pays homage to the brewers of Dusseldorf, Germany and their time tested brewing traditions. Caramel malts and assertive hops blend the richness of an ale with the smooth, unhurried elegance of a lager. This beer give a nod to the past and keep an eye to the future.

Can at home. Pours brilliantly clear brown with copper highlights and a medium, frothy off-white head. Aroma is metallic, wet paper/sherry oxidation, light caramel malt and earthy hops. Flavor is medium earthy hops and bitterness, light caramel malt, moderate oxidation and a funky metallic note that lingers, and a lightly sweet finish despite tasting rusted metal. Medium body and carbonation.

Can. Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (cereal, caramel, nuts, wort). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/fizzy carbonation. Another miss from this brewery, which continues to perplex. One great beer and lots of mysterious clunkers. Raw and sweet and crude.

On a mountain. Reminds me why I choose kolsch. Flavor is malt and light Carmel and alcohol water. Nose light Carmel. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear garnet/brown with a solid finger of foam and excellent lacing. It has a nose of brown sugar, toasted malt, and more than a hint of hop bitterness. Tastes like it smells if not as vibrant. I get some nutty notes to go with the brown sugar taste and there’s a decent bitter flavour here and there. Still, from the smell, I expected more. Good mouthfeel, good drinkability. Overall, I am quite pleased with this Alt.

Pours a nice amber hazy color. good strong aroma, good malty yeasty flavors, but a little hoppy at the end.

Can thanks to gription719. Nose is slightly buttered toast and caramel. Dark brown pour with a large off white head. Taste is lightly butter and also seems a bit fruity. Overall just kind of a bland brown beer.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2015 This was a pleasant beer. Nothing special, but it tastes clean and easy. This would be a good beer to have a few in one night. Not heavy.
