Appearance: Black with a nice amount of tan head and lots of lacing
Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate
Taste: Silky mouthfeel that tastes like it smells
A good drinkable beer.
I was at the brewery when they tapped this beer on the winter solstice. To begin with, this is a very pleasant lager. A black wheat beer with very nice tones of coffee and chocolate. The beer itself isn’t heavy and is very drinkable. It was conditioned and served on nitro so the mouthfeel was silky smooth. It had a great cascade happening down the side of the glass when poured. douglas88 (9181) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 3, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark color, almost totally black with a medium light beige colored head. A smooth roasted malt and chocolate nose. The flavor is very nice; chocolates, roasted malts, earthy and very easy to drink. A very enjoyable Lager.
