UPDATED: NOV 17, 2010 on tap-pours a light tan head and dark amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt-caramel (maris otter), faint earthy hops. Taste is light/medium malt-caramel (maris otter), secondary copper/earthy hops.

Draft… Hazy amber/orange ale with a fizzy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is of warm caramel-malt mash with a touch of cornmeal. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Moderate citrus bitterness alongside grainy toffee and caramel malt sweetness. Aroma of roasted malts, some burnt caramel.

Pint on tap at the brewery. Pours a nice, slightly cloudy amber with a one finger white head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma is rye and caramel malt. Taste is sweet and refreshing with toffee, caramel, and rye notes. Some bready malt too. Good creamy body. An excellent session beer.

12/7/12. Growler from the brewery. Deep brown pour with a nice light khaki head that fades to a ring but laces in nice rings. Sweet burnt caramel aroma with a touch of alcohol and dryness. On tap at Bold City. It poured clear copper with tan head. The aroma has some roasty and sweet malts mixing with some earthy cherry like sensations. Jacksonville, Fl. - on tap at the brewery tap room. My pick out of the 10 beer sampler for a full pint. Pours a medium copper with a soft white head that leaves good lacing. Good caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Flavor has a nice earthy quality to it with some noticeable chocolate, toffee and a hint of citrusy hoppiness. Mouthfeel is rich and thick. Draught at brewery taproom. Deep mahogany copper color. Sweet caramel aroma. Tastes much richer and hoppier than it smells. Nice toasted malt character. Fairly thick but not chewy palate. Nice higher gravity wintery session ale.
