COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The American IPA is a different soul from the reincarnated IPA style. More flavorful than the withering English IPA, color can range from very pale golden to reddish amber. Hops are typically American with a big herbal and / or citric character, bitterness is high as well. Moderate to medium bodied with a balancing malt back bone.

Sampled at an ESBLS. Cloudy golden. An off white head. Tropical fruit aroma with earth and sweet malts. Flavor is fruit first with citrus bitterness. Definitely a pale ale by style. Hops are forward but are not big. Earth and spice with fruit. Some harshness. Tropical fruit.

12 oz. can. Pours copper-amber with a lasting film of foam. Nose is toffee, tea leaf and mild citrus. Tastes of toffee, tea leaf and orange. Hints of, resin, wooden hop and mint on the finish. Near-medium body has smooth, low-medium carbonation and very little hop presence for an IPA. .

Aroma is earthy and malty. Mouthfeel is thin and sweet. Finishes very malty and piney. Not a bad mass produced IPA. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mep3222 (1380) - East Greenbush, New York, USA - NOV 16, 2016
Tropical hop and piney bitter hop aroma. Taste is more on the piney bitter hop side, some descentalt balance without being too heavy but there is a dirty yeasty finish that detracts. Flavors would probably be much better with a clean filtered IPA. Cloudy ipas are the trendy thing but it needs to work and this doesnt quite work as the yeast gives it a dirty almost soapy feel.

Can. Frothy head. amber body. Mild to moderate hoppiness, but flavorful. Well-balanced with the malt side. Alcohol not evident, especially for a 7%er. Very drinkable, subdued IPA.

12 oz can (thanks LJ) served in a Fat Cat glass. . Hazy copper body with a moderate size white head. Aroma: mild for style; dominated by hops but with more malt aroma than one might expect. Flavor: Moderate complexity and low bitterness for an Amercan IPA. Feel: near medium body; medium carbonation; slightly dry finish. Overall: a well-crafted, flavorful but mild IPA.
