Discounted can, woohoo! Pours a clear red with a small beige head that clings to the glass quite good. Nose is of earthy and piny hops over a base of caramel. Good. Taste actually feels more like an american amber ale with a bitterness that feels higher than 32 in reality. Caramel for sure but never cloying. The same earthy hops. Body feels very light to me and carbonation moderate. A bit thin in the end. Definitely feels more like an american amber ale. Not a revolutionizing one but still pretty good if you look at it that way.

Can. Clear amber body, medium crème brûlée head, decent retention and some lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, grains, woodsy notes and some caramel. Taste of bread, grains, herbs, caramel, some dried fruits. Average.

Pours dark brown gold with a small white top. Aroma is earthy grains with some noble hops. Taste is much the same, light caramel sweetness and a sharp although mild earthy hop bitterness.

Lubiere (14192) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 3, 2017
A dark amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light nutty notes, light grassy hops, light mineral notes, grainy character, light butterscotch. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light biscuit character, mash tun, light mineral notes, OK. On tap at Festibière d’hiver de Gatineau, 2017.

czar (9503) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 22, 2016
can. pours clear light copper-oramge with a small off-white cap offering minimal retention and lacing. toasted peppery cereals, faint berry fruitiness with few nutty, woodsy and earthy notes, pepper, minerals. moderate carbonation, light body - thin but not quite watery; relatively dry earthy-herbal finish. not necessarily on the bitter side of things, and esb is even more far-fetched but it is easily the best offering (by far) in this series, since their ipa and pale (blonde) are everything but a new deal..

lesifflebiere (1928) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 20, 2016

Eructoblaster (4412) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 6, 2016
Canette - 473ml. Correct.

probstblueribbon (4088) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2016
473 ml can from Broue Ha Ha, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep ruby mahogany with a frail light tan head.

Aroma: Buttery maltiness, bread crust, a little caramel/toffee, some sweet berry-like fruitiness, a little earthy, yeah...strawberries.

Palate: Medium body and medium+ carbonation.

Flav.: Fairly fruity with berries taking the lead, a bit earthy, a little caramel/toffee, diacetyl; dry with moderate+ bitterness and a pleasantly fruity and malty finish.

Likeable.

Note: 6/10

Whatup14 (2184) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 10, 2016
En fût à la brasserie. Couleur cuivré trouble, mousse beige ayant une bonne tenue. Arôme de malt grillé, herbal, brûlé. Goût de malt grillé, légère amertume, herbal. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen. Après les deux premières, celle-ci est un chef-d’oeuvre...
