COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Zutaten: Wasser, Gerstenmalz, Weizenmalz, Hopfenextrakt. Alk. 4,9 % vol.

Test vom 3.7.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Took a bit of chance on this as I picked up a crate from a supermarket in Munchen-Gladback. Never tried the style before but happily impressed with this. More of an autumn/winter beer. Heavy caramel overtones in this full bodied, smooth chestnut coloured ale.

33cl bottle, flip-top. BB 07/2011. Poured dark amber with a steady white head. Very grainy, dusty aroma, some mineral notes as well. Flavor grainy malty, slightly bitter finish. Well balanced, medium bodied. One of the better altbiers I have tried.

Beautiful walnut-like color, with beautiful creamy head, holding a long time. Smells nice sweet malty, subtly roasty. The beginning part is very tight. Hearty roasty notes with some nutty finish. Remarkably I love those great combination of tart and sweet flavors. One of the best german Altbier!

0,33 l fliptop bottle, hunted down at Brau-Beviale. Nuremberg.
Deep amber colored one with a small off white head. Meaningless aroma, some nuts and bready mat in the background, but veryvery minimal...Some sourish yest, toasted nuts and malt in the flavor, herbal hop in the finish. I cannot say any exciting about this one...

Bottle. Amber, small fully diminishing head. Moderate malty sweetish aroma with some toffee and caramel. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and toffee with roasted malt and hoppyness. Finish is average, malty dryish with some toffee. Dryish alt – not too much toffee or caramel.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Dark lager? Feels like one but a pretty straight down the line and has quite a bitter finish. Nothing special!

Dark red-brown colored with little light brown head. Sweet caramelly aroma with some grains. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is more cardboardy with caramel still, aftertaste lasts with dry hops, mild cardboard also here.

Swing top bottle 0,33l (BZ, BB 10/2010)
Dark amber color, big creamy beige head. Toasted sugar aroma with some grainy and metallic notes. Palate is thin. Cardboard, light caramel, grassy hoppyness. Cardboard indicates that this should sampled very fresh. Typical altbier, not the most interesting one.
