Black pour with a thin fluffy light khaki head. Lovely earthy roast and sweet dark chocolaty overtones on the nose. Smooth semisweet dark chocolate and roasty dark malty flavor with a light kiss of coffee and a smooth earthy roasty chocolaty finish. Really solid and smooth and quaffable and tasty Porter. Nothing more to ask for in a Porter.

Thanks Frank. This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a cap of a little off white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. The aroma had some almonds - sweet and roasty, light coffee bean roast, some dark chocolate bitterness and a little bit of earthy hop bitterness. The flavor leaned into the blend of the sweet and the roastiness. Bitterness played a decent part in the underneath. The aftertaste was somewhat roasty and sweet. The finish was moderately roasty and sweet. The palate was just a touch under medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation and ABV felt good. Overall, pretty good porter, that’s what I see it as, maybe a semi-hoppy one, but it’s a porter at the end of the day. No German yeastiness normally found in "Schwarzbiers" was found in this beer.

Taster at brewery. I would not put this in as a porter, but as. German schwarzbier. More lighter in body with some huge roasty notes in aRoma and taste. Dark and slick, hits all the right marks. Felt it was closer to the Schwartz than a porter. So this rating reflects it as a Schwartz.
