Can. Caramel malt aroma with notes of roast, chocolate and a bit of nuttiness. Pours brown colored with a thin tan head that has some retention and decent lacing. Starts with caramel malt flavors and some nuttiness with a medium body. Finishes smooth and dry with some chocolate malt and roast flavors. Pretty nice brown.

Grand Junction, Co. - College Liquors - 12 oz can. Dark, leading to black pour, slight off-white head, light lacing. Rich aroma of potting soil and pipe tobacco. Full-bodied flavor with some light chocolate notes, a hint of black coffee, some chicory, a touch of licorice. Mouthfeel has a delectable chalkiness to it. Very nice.

Poured from a 12oz can into pint glass. Color dark dark brown. Smell chocolate hint. Head was dark tan color and pretty thick. Taste was drinkable for beer of this style. Slight hints of chocolate and barely. All around an ok brown ale. Wouldnt buy again though.

Sampled this at the Breckenridge Brewery tap room/brew pub place near the stadium in Denver. Pours dark brown with a light khaki head. Aroma of very light smoke and lots of chocolate. Flavor follows with very little if any smoke, some nice chocolate notes, and a spicy character that is tough to describe. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Id have this again given the chance, but not worth seeking out.

In the can @ home. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a foamy light brown head. Toasted nuts, cashews, caramel, minerals, and light chocolate in the aroma. Light to medium body. Decent flavor. Pretty nutty with some chocolate. Moderate earthy bitterness. A little chalky. Ok.

Can poured into a fluted glass. Pours brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma is a bit dishwater and vegetal. Bit of grassiness. Disappointing lack of any roast. Taste is creamy, vegetal, grass, a bit of nuts, vanilla, chocolate, coffee with cream. Easy drinking, nice creamy finish. Nothing special. The off putting aroma is tough to get over.
