UPDATED: DEC 1, 2017 Day 1 of Beer Advent. Nice deep brown with reddish hue. Not a strong aroma but roasty malt and cocoa detectable. Flavor is medium bitter, tobacco ash, wood, bitter cocoa. Medium bodied. Solid. hauxe (1015) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - OCT 14, 2017
From the can. An attractive chestnut brown pour with a frothy to foamy head that settles but lingers. Subtle nutty aroma with hints of butterscotch sweetness. Taste is mildly sweet with notes of roasted grains and chocolate. The faint metallic notes at the outset faded completely as the beer warmed, was probably a touch too cold. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A nice one. theisti (4237) - Kansas, USA - MAR 16, 2017
12 oz can purchased at some small liquor store in Dillon, Colorado. Canned 12-16-16 stamped on bottom of can. The pour is a hazed brown golden with a well formed light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt and grass. The taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, grass, and a dry clean finish. The palate is light to medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and the dry roast grass finish. Nice brown. zoucrew102 (2233) - - JAN 15, 2017

Grand Junction, Co. - College Liquors - 12 oz can. Dark, leading to black pour, slight off-white head, light lacing. Rich aroma of potting soil and pipe tobacco. Full-bodied flavor with some light chocolate notes, a hint of black coffee, some chicory, a touch of licorice. Mouthfeel has a delectable chalkiness to it. Very nice. A nice brown ale. Very easy to drink and a good meal time beer. Malty and sweet backbone. Moderate hops and alcohol. Coloradical (6) - - OCT 1, 2014 does not count
Poured from a 12oz can into pint glass. Color dark dark brown. Smell chocolate hint. Head was dark tan color and pretty thick. Taste was drinkable for beer of this style. Slight hints of chocolate and barely. All around an ok brown ale. Wouldn’t buy again though. BMMillsy (1788) - Florida, USA - JUL 2, 2014
Sampled this at the Breckenridge Brewery tap room/brew pub place near the stadium in Denver. Pours dark brown with a light khaki head. Aroma of very light smoke and lots of chocolate. Flavor follows with very little if any smoke, some nice chocolate notes, and a spicy character that is tough to describe. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. I’d have this again given the chance, but not worth seeking out. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 26, 2014
In the can @ home. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a foamy light brown head. Toasted nuts, cashews, caramel, minerals, and light chocolate in the aroma. Light to medium body. Decent flavor. Pretty nutty with some chocolate. Moderate earthy bitterness. A little chalky. Ok.
