Brimstone? You mean fire and brimstone> What could this award-winning, Belgian-style Tripel have to do with divine punishment? Taste it. See how three times the malt brings three times the pleasure? Thats divine. Now, did you detect each of the unique spices and esters working their magic? No? Your punishment is to have another sip.

Alway looking for something local, and stumbled onto this, I found this beer very enjoyable to drink, and for a 9.5 triple, almost too smooth, watch out.

750 ml corked and caged bottle shared by my brother in law. The pour is mostly clear golden with a nice one inch white head. The aroma is clove yeast, bit of fruit sweet and general spice. The taste is a well built traditional Tripel with the clove, soft fruit sweetness and the general yeast spice. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, soft carbonation, warming alcohol and a bit of yeast in the lingering finish. Solid.

Had a nice aroma much like other Belgian Trippels. Cereal, clove as it warms. Straw color. Taste is also true to style, sweet but good balance with hops. Seems overly carbonated on the palate which created a bitter finish, followed by sweet taste that lingers. Not much for any other flavors in this beer. Just sweet and some hop bitterness.

Pours hazy amber, little head. Very thick, full bodied and creamy. Wheat and honey, hint of watermelon. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the brewery. Its got the looks. This isnt bad; true to style. Sugary and firm. Sturdily holds up to the name and hides its 9.5% well. (#5702, 8/31/2014)

nice golden pour sticky head. Nose is nice. Bread as flower some caramel and marshmallow with a light sourdough yeast. Strange taste though. Creamy and light mouthfeel. Soap and peroxide. Quite yeasty and herbal. Cheese rind and peppercorn. Mustard seed and rye. But the soap taste is slightly off putting

750 ml bottle thanks to Skyview, thanks much for the opportunity! Mostly clear yellow with light retention in the snifter. Aroma is Belgian inspired yeast, lemons and sweet grain. Light fruit hints.

The flavor is mostly the aroma. Sweet grain, pale malts, yeast with some plastic. Kind of a strange off flavor in the aftertaste. The only way I can describe it is plastic. Texture is soft with a crisp feeling. If the brewery can refine this beer, it would be good. Something is just slightly off. The base elements are good.

4 oz. pour as part of an 8-beer flight, on tap at the brewerys taproom. Labeled as "Boom Island Brimstone Abdij Tripel." Pours an effervescent, clear, bright gold with a large amount of long-lasting, nearly white head. Looks good. Aroma of orange, vanilla, salt, and potpourri. Complex smell. Sweet and pleasant taste features apple, white grape juice, and white wine flavors as well as honey and green grape. Medium to full body. Easy to drink. A good and enjoyable beer overall, though not outstanding by the standards of the style.
