Faro Boon is een bier van spontane gisting waarbij Meerts bier en Oude Lambiek gemengd worden. De lichtbruine kleur en zoetzure smaak worden bekomen door toevoeging van kandijsuiker voor het bottelen. A beer of spontaneous fermentation, made by the blending of ’Meerts’ beer and old Lambics. The light-brown colour, as well as the sweet-sour character, are due to the addition of candisyrup before bottling.

Bottle fortunately shared at OltremaltO, Ancona. Pours amber brown with a small lasting off-white to beige head and good lacing. Aroma of syrup, malt, overripe fruit, brown sugar and toffee. Heavy sweetness, minimal bitterness and sour. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation.

A 250ml bottle with a best before date of 23rd January 2019. Poured into a Lindemans flute glass. It was a clear copper colour with a one finger white head that dissipates quickly but settles to a thin but replenishing layer. No lacing. Aromas of sweet-ish plum, apple juice, brown sugar and apple cider vinegar. Tastes of sweet sweet apple, apple juice, brown sugar and maybe some herbal notes. Light to medium bodied with light carbonation. Overall, this was overly sweet for me, even though it was easy to drink.

Helt ok aroma. Dufter af lambic. Smagen er meget sød - for sød. Sjov type øl, der aldrig kommer helt opppe at ringe.

BOTTLE 25 CL shared. BB APR2016. Clear dark copper/brandy, sediment, small off-white head. Glazed baked apples, touch of cooked corn, light barrel brandy like notes. The taste is slightly cidery, macerated apples, nice sweetness, not sugary at all. The finish has a mild cidery winy astringency. Nice.

Nutty brown, light, small white head. Smells Madeira, vinegar, some old cellar malts. Sweet, sugary, balanced with light tart finish.
