COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberry lambic was once a rarity and only produced for a few weeks during the summer. Frank Boon was the first brewer to again prepare a raspberry lambic in the summer of 1976. More than 300 grams per liter of fresh raspberries give Framboise Boon a fresh fruity taste. The young lambic supports the flavor. But this is very much about raspberries, not the lambic. Of course we do not use artificial flavorings, only real raspberries. Boon Framboise has an alcohol volume of 5%. Drink it when it is young.

Bottle from the Three Horseshoes, Stapleford. Red, translucent with a little bit of pink head around the rim. No surprise about the aroma: fresh raspberry abounds with slight notes of lemon peel, champagne vinegar and a metallic note. Tart taste, which concentrates on the fruit but theres more than a suggestion of the sprightly lambic underneath. Sweet-sour interplay in the finish. Nicely carbonated, I can forgive the thin body considering the mega-raspberry fizz on the tongue. Extraordinary.

Massive raspberry aroma in a crimson copper pour. Subtle tart taste is balanced with a flavour enhancing saltiness. An excellent example of why the Belgians are to beer what the French are to wine.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2014 vintage bottling. Pours fairly clear deep ruby red/light copper color with a 2 finger dense pink head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sweet/tart/tangy raspberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, apple, red grape, brown sugar, toasted bread, wood, light hay/funk/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of raspberries, fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and oak notes; with great strength. Taste of big sweet/tart/tangy raspberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, apple, red grape, brown sugar, toasted bread, wood, light hay/funk/pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate fruit tartness and light yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raspberry, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, plum, cherry, apple, red grape, brown sugar, toasted bread, wood, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and oak flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice young fruit lambic. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/earthy yeast, bready malt, and oak flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink with the balanced fruit acidity/sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

Trochę jestem zawiedziony, bo mało jest lambika tutaj, większość robią maliny. Tak jak przy Kriekach jest więcej kwaśności i cech lambikowych tak tutaj jest głwnie owoc i długo, długo nic.

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, wood, raspberry and tart.

Appearance:
Turbid red/purple beer with a slight/medium pink head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, wood and raspberry; ends slightly dry and sour with tart.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Could have been more sweet and thus intense, or more sour and thus complex; but this beer manages to have a great balance. Perfect sweet and slightly tart raspberry flavour, totally nailed it for me.

Very straight forward, not particularly sour. Very juicy. Reminds me of a more natural Lindemans.
