COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberry lambic was once a rarity and only produced for a few weeks during the summer. Frank Boon was the first brewer to again prepare a raspberry lambic in the summer of 1976. More than 300 grams per liter of fresh raspberries give Framboise Boon a fresh fruity taste. The young lambic supports the flavor. But this is very much about raspberries, not the lambic. Of course we do not use artificial flavorings, only real raspberries. Boon Framboise has an alcohol volume of 5%. Drink it when it is young.

From old tasting notes. Claret colored liquid. No head. Crisp berry nose. Dry raspberry flavor has vinous tart notes. Lightly carbonated. Raspberry fruit flavor dominates this throughout.

Kolor bordowy, rubinowy, klarowny.

Keg at Craft Beer Rising. A hazy red colour with a medium pink head. Aroma of raspberry, oak, some wood tanins, a hint of farmyard and a hint of vinegar. Taste of sharp raspberry, lemon, some oak, slight red grape, a hint of vinegar and subtle jam. Medium bodied and a slick texture. A dry but tart raspberry finish. A good lambic, as they should taste. Prefer the kriek but this is sharp, slightly acidic but smooth.

Bottle of the 2011 I’ve been ageing, originally from Utobeer. Cork pops out of the bottle with no carbonation. Dark pinkish red, browning with age, slight white bubbly head which dissipates to nothing. Nose is like raspberry jam. sticky jam sweetness, slight tart and sour, little damp cellar. Taste is raspberry jam, minerals, damp cellar. Mouthfeel is a little thin.
