COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberry lambic was once a rarity and only produced for a few weeks during the summer. Frank Boon was the first brewer to again prepare a raspberry lambic in the summer of 1976. More than 300 grams per liter of fresh raspberries give Framboise Boon a fresh fruity taste. The young lambic supports the flavor. But this is very much about raspberries, not the lambic. Of course we do not use artificial flavorings, only real raspberries. Boon Framboise has an alcohol volume of 5%. Drink it when it is young.

Demise (57) - Wellington, - FEB 13, 2009
Pours a cloudy pinkish brown with red hues and a white head. Smells strongly of raspberries, slightly sour. The flavour is also very sour, but not necessarily in a bad way. It is a very carbonated beer and raspberries dominate, as expected, but there is a touch of malt and an odd metallic taste near the finish - this could be the alcohol flavour mixing with the fruit. Although I am a fan of sour flavours when it comes to lambics, this could benefit from a touch of sweetness, perhaps just to mellow the intensity of flavour. On saying that hwever, the palate is left with a lingering berry sweetness that begs for another sip.

Pours dark red/purple with some fizzy white head. Aroma packed full of raspberries, reminds me of a fresh pie. Taste is much milder than I was expecting and quite dry. Fruity raspberries with a mild funk, a little like portello. Very, very refreshing and approachable, but prefer the kriek.

On tap at Vrteka 2017. Pours dark red with pinkish head. Intense raspberries in aroma, barnyard, moderate sourness and sweetness, a bit sweeter than I would like. Dry finish. Not that complex. Light to medium bodied.

drjoeng (1204) - SINGAPORE - MAY 1, 2017
2014 bottling. 5%ABV. Lambic Poured out red purple. Nose is juicy and juicebox. Mouthfeel is carbonated and soda like. Sparkling mineral water. Palate has sweet dough. Overall, this tasted exactly like a raspberry or blackcurrant San Pellegrino with carbonation, salty mineral body overlaid with faint fruit flavor. Refreshing like the Kriek Boon.

From old tasting notes. Claret colored liquid. No head. Crisp berry nose. Dry raspberry flavor has vinous tart notes. Lightly carbonated. Raspberry fruit flavor dominates this throughout.

Poncjusz (136) - POLAND - APR 23, 2017
Kolor bordowy, rubinowy, klarowny.
