COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek Boon is a traditional Belgian Lambic fruit-beer. It is brewed according to the traditional Lambic style of spontaneous fermentation. Only fresh cherries (25%) are used. Kriek Boon is slightly sweet, with the surprising natural fragrance of sourcherries and almonds. With only 4% of alcohol it is a perfect summer beer.

375ml cork and cage bottle at home in Richmond, as Kriek Boon, 4%, 2014 vintage (bottled in 2016). Dark ruby red, almost opaque, still, dense foamy pink head. Aroma is deep cherry, musty lambic, lemon and lots of sour Haribo Tangfastic sweets. Body is light, a touch frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is sour cherry sweets, cherry cola, pretty syrupy. Like a cherry flavoured faro. Way too sweet. This is quite a depressing beverage because the brewery is actually really good, but this is not. Im thinking about all the great beers they could have made instead of this.

2014. Pours red with a thin pink head. The cherries are strong in the aroma, with a slight funk and maybe some wood. Quite sweet with just a hint of sourness. Light body, soft carbonation, drying finish.

2014 vintage from Tanakaya. Pours a deep ruby pomegranate with a half a finger of pink foam. Cherry drops on the nose but as it warms a little light oak makes its way out. Cherry all over the palate with a touch of blackberry. Fairly sweet, but not syrupy either. Crisp and clean carbonation. Not really tart though. A perfect gateway fruit lambic though.

Bottle at St Veronus. Aroma isn't anything special, but the cherry flavour is incredibly appealing. Sweet, sour and fresh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Liquor Mountain (going for Y598 these days). Gentle but definite cherry nose, cough syrup, and small spice. Thin translucent red, fizzy head. Clear cherry initial flavor, light retronasal funk rising up, hits of fruity tartness and some mild hop bitterness, and a moderately dry finish. Thin-medium body, foamy. Nothing extreme or very special, but pleasant stuff. Maybe a touch too sweet.
