December 2017 - Keg at Mermaid, Hackney. As 'Boon Geuze Vat 67'. Hazy orange, still with a foamy white head. Aroma is lemon, buttery, oak, some lemon cake. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is again quite buttery, lemon juice and elderflower, little oaky. Overall impression is quite simple, not overly complex and a touch too buttery. Still a decent sour. (7-4-7-3-15=3.6)

Keg at Brewdog as ’Boon Old Lambic’ . Golden orange, slight haze, small white head. Aroma is sharp sour lemon, syrupy sweet, sweet n sour sauce etc. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation, the anticipated tooth coating lambic body. Taste has tangy high notes and musty low notes, sour lemon. Fine, but not my style and I don’t find the complexity that others do in lambic beers.

On tap, 2y old lambic. Clear dark golden color with just a few bubbles. Aroma has nice yeast funk, cellar notes, damp wood. Taste is quite bitter, funky, moldy, woody, earthy. Light body, medium plus carbonation. Really rustic lambic with lots of farmhouse and barnyard character.

(En fût à Toronado SD): Foin humide, cuirette modeste, panier de fruits pales et minéralité passagère se joignent dans un liquide paisible et léger à l'acidité modérée.
