Gold Medal World Beer Cup 2016

(from label)
Oude Geuze Boon Black Label is the driest geuze we make. Combining a full-bodied taste with a very high fermentation degree is a big challenge. This geuze has a clear golden body with lively carbonation, balanced sourness and flavors of green apple and grapefruit. This is finished off with a long bone-dry aftertaste. The Lambics used for this blend aged for 1, 2 and 3 years on oak casks. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

Bottle pour at Sovereign. Hazy light orange pour with a smaller head. Funky barnyard, light green apple, hint of wood, some horse blanket. This is terrific.

Final ligeramente amargo y seco. Muy elegante.

750 from Corti Brothers. Pours bubbly golden with a huge foamy white head and a sour fruit aroma with a huge oak bouquet. There is a carbonated mildly sour fruity flavor that reminds one of green apples. This is a very delicate brew that is finished off with a slightly bitter oakiness.

[9496-20170805] 750mL bottle. Dry yeasty wood grain aroma. Slightly hazy, orange gold body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Soured fruity grains flavour. Medium body. A gentle sour, easy to drink. (7/3/7/4/16) 3.7

Pours cloudy golden with fairly tall white head that drops fast. Aroma of grass, green grapes and apples, citrus and honey, very fresh! Taste is medium to rich tart, grapes and apples coming through, mellow fruit sweet finish. Light and crisp body, hints of wine barrels, average carbonation.

bigben873 (262) - Virginia, USA - OCT 20, 2017
A little sweet (but it is a lambic) for my taste but relatively good and smooth.

MoritzF (10141) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - OCT 3, 2017
(bottle, 75cl, bb: 03/2035) Hazy, golden colour with a big and quickly collapsing frothy white head. Slightly vinegary apple-fruity aroma with funky notes of cobwebs. Moderately sour flavour, surprisingly light bodied with an effervescent carbonation. Apple-fruity cider-like character with funky and tannic notes; the latter especially towards the moderately sour-tart and spritzy finish. Enjoyable not too harsh Geuze, except for the level of carbonation. 03.X.17

Fajny.
