Gold Medal World Beer Cup 2016

(from label)
Oude Geuze Boon Black Label is the driest geuze we make. Combining a full-bodied taste with a very high fermentation degree is a big challenge. This geuze has a clear golden body with lively carbonation, balanced sourness and flavors of green apple and grapefruit. This is finished off with a long bone-dry aftertaste. The Lambics used for this blend aged for 1, 2 and 3 years on oak casks. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name.

MoritzF (10068) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - OCT 3, 2017
(bottle, 75cl, bb: 03/2035) Hazy, golden colour with a big and quickly collapsing frothy white head. Slightly vinegary apple-fruity aroma with funky notes of cobwebs. Moderately sour flavour, surprisingly light bodied with an effervescent carbonation. Apple-fruity cider-like character with funky and tannic notes; the latter especially towards the moderately sour-tart and spritzy finish. Enjoyable not too harsh Geuze, except for the level of carbonation. 03.X.17

Bardzo cydrowe, skokowe, w aromacie mało brettowe, dzikość ładnie komponuje się w smaku z rześka owocowoscia. Fajny.

750 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy orange tinged gold with a large creamy white head. Aroma is rather apple. With an underlying sour note. Quite a smell. Full bodied due to firm carbonation. Flavor is sour. It's a bit bacterial. Very dry. Tart. Not at all acidic for me. A bit astringent. There's fruit, but sort of an aside thing. Given the suggestion I can find the grapefruit and the apple is rather green skin apple. I cannot do justice to this with words. Very nice ale.

czar (9338) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 23, 2017
pours hazy light but bright golden with a towering bubbly white head leaving significant lacing. nicely infected orchard fruits, zesty and peppery apricots, ample yet soft tannins, spot-on tartness - yummy blend of unharsh acids, complex flora, soft pineapple vinegar, lemony herbs, salt. bright carbonation, light body - oily; craftfully balanced, gently tart, woodsy and fruity-spicy-citrusy finish. it truly succeeds in having body without any residual sugars. much enjoyed this solid dry blend.

From the bottle, from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Edition no. 3. Pours slightly pale gold with limited gross foam, white. Aroma is wild/sour. Body is somehow light with good carbonation for its body. Taste is sour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is average.

niedojrzale zielone owoce- jablka, bialy winogron, troche nut funkowych, drewna, cytryny. Generalnie mocne nagazowanie psuje troche zabawe ale jest bardzo ok :)

ComradeK (1256) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2017
750ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold, with a large white head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves good lacing. Grapefruit, leathery oak and some funky notes make up the aroma. Quite tart up front, with crisp flavours of green apple. More complex characteristics in the mid-palate, with leather and barnyard notes wrapped in a blanc de blancs-type mouthfeel. Grapefruit sourness to finish. Nicely sour and complex.

2017-08-05. Lightly hazy orange body, large foamy beige head fades. 3+ Aroma is musty, light barnyard, nice lemon notes. Flavour is fairly dry, nice lemon notes, surprisingly mild sourness/acidity. 7++ Average bodied palate, very effervescent carbonation. 3+ Pretty nice. 7/4/7-8/3-4/16-17 Bottle labelled Boon / Mikkeller Oude Geuze Boon Bone Dry shared by Wilco.

jbruner (5121) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - AUG 16, 2017
Second edition, 6.4% abv. Pours a hazy golden orange from the cork and cage bomber with voluminous bubbly white that dissipates slowly to leave moderate lace. Aroma of huge funky farmhouse lambic esters, with a hint of horse blanket and acidity, maybe some lemon sprinkled on top. Taste is more acidic, but quickly moves to high funk info the middle, dry earthy finish. An impressive geuze, with loads of complexity over top layers of awesome.
