Pours cloudy brown with lacy white head. Aroma is sweet and sour with notes of vinegar. Bitter tart taste with a crisp sweet finish. Finishes like a fine champagne and overall delicious

Bevuta il 28/07/2017 @MelrosePlace in Romagnano Sesia (NO). Annata 2009. Grassa al naso, odore che mi ricorda cotechino e sanguinaccio. In bocca acidula al punto giusto, frizzantina (mi ricorda il brioschi) e con un finale secco. BIRRA DA OCCASIONE SPECIALE

Bottle. Aroma- fruity: apple, lemon, some apricot. Then come subtle oak note. Pale, a bit hazy, with a high, but short-lasting head. Taste- very well balance between medium-low tartness, subtle sourness, fruity notes and oak note. Definitely not aggressive, but multi-dimensional. Low-bodied, with a medium carbonation. Sparkling, refreshing (feels like a 4-5 % abv, rather than 8) beer.

375 ml bottle bought at Achel Abbey’s supermarket (great place, lots of good stuff for very cheap prices.) Served in flute fresh, not cold, as Boon recommends. Pours topaz yellow with no visible carbonation. Head lingers a blink and disappears for good. Aroma is apple, grassy, earthy, bread, yeast, green lemon, leather. Taste is fizzy, very dry, structured and round. Dry, short-lived, clean finish with hints of lime and apple.

Tart and refreshing, not too intense. More bitter than expected. Plenty of sharp apple and a bit earthy

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2017 Pleasant earthy aroma. Beer is lively with deep carbonated head that rapidly disappears. Tart taste but not unpleasantly sour. Citrus flavours and a final aniseed hit that quickly goes. Very pleasant and refreshing beer.

2012 bottle. Clear golden-bronze colour with a frothy white head that fizzed away. Wonderful full aroma with all the likely suspects and more: farm qualities including the manure and the silage, with citrus fruits, it’s pungent. Highly carbonated with a full body. Not at all subtle but it is masterful. Very impressive, I love it.

Part of a blind tasting at K&L in Redwood City. Placed 3rd of 8 for me and 2nd overall. Hazy orange. Sustained off-white head. Massive barn aspects. Flavors of orange and a massive effervescent spritziness.

Flasche (Geuze Mariage Parfait, Jahrgang 2009, 75 cl). - Rotgold. - Intensiv muffig-holzige aber noch trinkbare Geuze mit kräftiger Orangenschalenherbe und deutlich holzigem Abgang mit Anklängen an Essig. Schwerer im Körper als viele. Schroff holziger Nachtrunk. - Nicht schlecht aber recht hart zu trinken.

nogva (82) - NORWAY - JUL 25, 2017
375ml bottle from 2013 (batch 62802). Pours a hazy golden amber with a thin but creamy off-white head. Complex aroma of green apples, sour candy, lambic yeast and some caramel. Medium body, slick feel, fizzy carbonation. Taste is tart with lots of citrus (mostly grapefruit), green apples and some oak. Long lasting astringent finish.
