Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

Vintage 2010/2011. Pours clear dark golden with clear vivid carbo bubbles and a lively white head. Murky, citric aroma with some clear wooden notes. Slight yeasty note, with a bit of orange peel as well. Sweetish sour taste, with a minor yeasty undertone. Some wood and vinegar as well, and a clear presence of citrus fruits. This also dominates the dry aftertaste. A gueuze which is fairly accessible.

vinivini (2243) - Gomel, BELARUS - APR 12, 2017
Cloudy honey orange, big airy head. The aroma is apple acid, soft funk, barrel. Citrus. Meadow flowers. Light body. Bone dry flavour. Moderately acidic. Oak. Fruity. Light bitterness finishes all. Good is good.

Golden color with medium head that lasts. Aroma is dusty, citrus, lemon. Taste is tart, lemons, apricots, peaches. Funky and very easy to drink! High carbonation and tart aftertaste. A great choice.

Bouteille 25 cl - couleur blonde avec mousse blanche, fines bulles, odeur houblonée, goût acide, meilleure quand un peu chaude, saveur céréales

0.375 l bottle from ’Rudat’, bottled in May 2014 (almost three years old). Clear, golden amber with a thin, fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sourish-fruity, moderately funky and quite dusty aroma of lemon, gooseberry, leather, cellar and some oak. Moderately sour, slightly funky, quite fruity and slightly dusty taste of lemon, gooseberry, rhubarb, leather, cellar and oak, followed by a medium long, rather tart, very dry and dusty finish. Thin to medium body, moderately astringent and just slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very well-balanced, not overly complex but still quite refined, a bit too flat for the style though. Very nice!

Bottle, forgot the vintage (think 08-09) Aroma has stables, apple, leather, a bit sour. Poured cloudy orange golden, small head, rather quickly faded. Taste is not overly sour, tart fruits, citrus, wood.
