COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Geuze Boon is one of the finest examples of the traditional 100% spontaneous fermentation Lambic style. To moderate the sourness, Boon Brewery only brews Lambic in the 7 cold months, from early October until April, according to the traditional "turbid mash" system. This Lambic beer is aged for 1, 2 or 3 years in oak casks. The blend, a mild average 18 months old Lambic (unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised) is refermented in the bottle and can be stored up to 20 years. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Awards at the World Beer Championships: 2008 Gold, 2010 Silver, 2012 Gold Medal.

Pour is a nice hazy orange with a very bubbly white head. Very funky and tart nose, wet grass, slightly peppery, nice citrus notes, and slightly vinegary. Tastes great, not super sour, nice citrusy fruit notes, really funky barnyard, wet grass, and slightly spicy. High carbonation, very balanced and wonderfully sour. Love it.

Jako nie-specjalista lambikowy mogę tylko napisać, że niespecjalne... Nic, poza nieprzyjemną goryczką, nie jest zbyt intensywne. Skórzaste, owocowe, z łodygową goryczką na języku i śliniankach.

Backlog, Bottle in 11 or 12. Pours a hazy orange with 2 finger white head. Nose and flavor are lemon, oak, light barn, grapefruit, and herbs. Really funky smell on this lambic but lacking in the mouthfeel and finish in my opinion. Light to medium with dry close.

33ml Bottle at L'Egalite. A classic, well made, dry Lambic from 2014-2015. Sour.

The bottle was in the early stages of being sun struck because of the traditional sunk smell, but besides that it was lovely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A number of characteristics of this beer compare to a good cheese: (1) the older the better, so check the year printed on the bottle (2) it tastes better than it smells - yes the aroma of fermentation can be disturbing for newcomers (3) It is certainly not for everyone. But for an official Gueuze-Disciple, this formidable brew, strong in flavor, sour, with a reasonable hint of fermentation, can’t get any better. Among my top 5 beers I sampled.

This is a 2013/14 bottle a bit past its prime. A bit skinny through poor storage. Cloudy orange pour. Funky oaky scent with some basement. Lemony flavor with a dry finish. Pretty good.

tmoreau (4505) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 22, 2017
12.7 oz. bottle served to my sampler glass at the 8th WCD Trade Expo, displaying a clear, golden hue, with a fizzy layer of soft white foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was yeasty funk, a little hay, soft malt/wheat, tart & tangy citrus as grapefruit, a bit of apple, and a hint of oakiness. Light+ bodied with fair carbonation, the taste was similar notes, including some earthy, tannic, and dry astringency. A benchmark Gueze.
