COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Kriek Boon is one of the finest examples of the 100% spontaneous fermentation fruit-Lambic style. 400 g of wild cherries per litre are fermented together with a blend of young and old Boon Lambic that has been aged in oak casks. After clarification, the Oude kriek is bottled and refermented. It is unsweetened, unfiltered, unpasteurised and has no artificial flavourings, preservatives or colourings added. Brewed in Lembeek, the village that gave Lambic its name. Pour slowly in a flute glass without disturbing the yeast sediment in the bottle. Cheers !

Drank 13-07-17 with Koen & Cat (thanks for sharing!). 2013 bottle. Quite subtle sour. A bit ’soft’, but I like the sours that way. Nice.

Barwa czerwona, mętna, piana mała różowa. Aromat stajni, koński, wiśniowy. W smaku skórzane, wiśniowe, pestkowe. Pifko cierpkie i lekko kwaśne. Takie szlachetne pifko.

It is an incredibly pretty beverage. Beautiful red colour with pink head. But it is just lightly wild. And the cherry flavour is compote like.

Vintage 2014. Pours sligthly cloudy red, no head. Aroma contains woody and acidic notes. Taste is some cherry fruit, almond, sour, impression of barrel. Rather dry. Palate is soft, with low carbonation. Nice balance of fruit, sour and barrel.

Aroma: nice funk, sour cherries with a hint of sweetness. Taste: lots of cherries, light funk, distict acidity, no sweetness. Well balanced with both taste of cherries and geuze very discernible. Mouthfeel medium, slightly creamy. Carbonation soft. Simply a good kriek.

0,375 l bottle. 2014. Dark dark red in the glass, small fast fading rosé head. Sweet sour fruitieness smell. Taste starts fruity, switching to a more dry sequence with less fruity. Can not really convince in the second part.

Bottle form SB. deep dark red, pinkish head. cherry, fruit, a bit of oak. medium tartness, a bit of sweetness. Not as sour as some other great krieks, a bit more on the mild side. Highly drinkable but i prefer my krieks a bit more on the wild side.
