3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a soft brown color with a fingerís worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Sly lace.
The aroma takes in some chocolate, caramel and a light nuttiness at the end.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side. Soft malty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Soft carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, good brown ale for the most part.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at the brewpub. This was a deep brown, with a cool deep garnet color when held to light. The nose was toasty and malty. There was also a light citrus note. A very toasty finishing brew, this also had lots of toffee. A very nice rendition of the style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[On-tap at Boone Valley Brewing] Pours brown with a small khaki head. Subdued, roasted malt, caramel, light alcohol, and a little chocolate. Not bad. Medium-thin mouthfeel, and an average finish length. Quite nice, just slightly bland. A middle of the road brown ale, but I enjoyed it.
