ALLOVATE (2980) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAR 27, 2013
Tasting @ Cellarbrations Carlisle Carpark Brewday 2012. Orange amber and sunny bright with a lasting, frothy white pad atop Nose is initially floral, Kentish even but there is a hint of lemon and lime zest, pine needles and blackcurrant juice that is undeniable of Bramling X hops. Earth, topsoil, granola, gritty malt and whole hop flowers dance across the palate. It is delightfully hoppy with a firm and floral bitterness in the back and citrus/blackcurrant in the lasting finish. Nice body with plenty of flavour packed in. Feels good on the palate the way an ESB should. On the drier side for the length, the fruit of the hops keeps it well heightened. I would like to see this as one of Bootleg’s stables, but do hope they lose the useless addition of blackcurrant tea!!
