Tap at the Royston Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a clear medium reddish brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, red berry fruit, light coffee notes. The flavour is moderate sweet with a dry roasty, smoky, fruity, liqourice, raisin, light coffee, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. BB 08/16. Poured a translucent deep reddish brown with a one-finger dense foam head that retained very well and laced OK. Carbonation very high and fine. Aroma of toasted malt, sweet dark fruit (raisins) with a hint of sweet chocolate coming through as it warmed; alcohol well hidden. Taste of sweet roasted caramel malts with hints of vanilla, chocolate and liquorice; taste is quite sweet; not much bitterness (thankfully); alcohol well hidden. Medium body. Crisp and smooth with a soft syrupy mouthfeel and with a quite sweet (even sweeter as it warms) finish. Good. ShaneJ (898) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 23, 2015
Bottle from Thirsty Crow (September 2014). Dark cola brown, 2cm tan head, coffee, golden syrup, raisins, prunes, dark chocolate, thick, syrupy texture, earthy bitterness, sweet, slightly smoky finish. Excellent. stevoj (5425) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 5, 2015
Pours black with fast disappearing airy head. Light aroma of molasses and dark malts. Taste brings in some anise and licorice. Light body, despite the syrupy tastes, licorice sweetness on the finish. Bootlegger007 (243) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 2, 2015
Pours a dark brown almost black colour with a lasting creamy off white head, aromas of malts and toffee, lightly floral with an earthy background, flavours of fruits, rasin and plum, hint of vanilla, roasted malts, full bodied with a moderate bitter aftertaste, awesome.

When poured, the Bootleg - Raging Bull immediately announces its intent. A rich loamy head accompanies a dark nectar of a beer, with an immediate scent of coffee and fruits assaulting the senses. On first taste, the rich coffee is apparent, but surprisingly the 7.1% isn't. The lingering sweetness of the underlying dark fruits tempts the palate for just another sip. Definitely work a taste.

Bottle @ home. Pours a deep reddish brown / black appearance with a dark brown head. Some burnt sugar, dark grapes, plums, dark chocolate, and light coffee in the nose. A bit on the sweet side. Kind of gooey mouth feel. A touch medicinal. Thick brown sugar. Too sweet and the booze is a little high. Danev76 (505) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 15, 2014
Thick malty aroma. Dark but clear ruby brown colour with excellent head. Toffee malt flavour wit excellent finish. Medium body and carbonation. Rosslew (320) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 14, 2014
Looks like a coke without the bubbles in the glass. Very much coffee on the nose. Taste of caramel, toffee. Even a touch of blueberry. Hops come through the longer the ale out of the bottle. Clean finish.
