4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’ve tried 2 other beers from Bootleggers, Black Tuesday and Chocasauraus Rye, and this orange County Brewery does not disappoint. The Aroma is coffee and Chocolate roasted malts. On second inhale hints of cocoa powder, mild roasted chili’s and real mild hops piney scent come thru with the coffe and roasted malts. Thin light brown head that that dissapears in a hurry. It is very dark. I held it up next to one of the flood lights in my kitchen and still could not see through it. As for the taste, it is almost exactley like it smells I can’t even taste the alcohol. The chili is noticeable as an aftertaste but its more of a mild tingle on the back of your throat. As for the mouth feel It’s not thin as some may suggest (think a little less than Oatmeal Stout). Overall I’d say this beer is top notch. I am just hopping to find it closer to home next time.

22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Roast, Chili peppers, some coffee and a tart finish (but that’s probably because I needlessly aged this because I have too much beer to drink in a life time). blipp (9502) - La Mesa, California, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Mild coffee sweetness, roasted malts, some molasses-like sweetness, and coffee sweetness lingering through the finish. Not bad. Maarten1993 (1334) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 11, 2017
Drank with Rik in at Pivo 100 in Bratislava (second beer of the tasting), 08-02-2017. Pepper, lots of carbonation and sharp. Okay. lukka19 (925) - Myjava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - FEB 8, 2017

Huge, thick beige head over virtually black beer. Chocolate, bit of coffee. Voluminous head hampers the perception. Bit earthy, also paint, autumn leaf, toffee. Chocolate, mocha, coffee, spicy. Chilliheat arrives nearly as an afterthought, but keeps hanging after a while. Faintly smoked, capsicum. Seems well-bodied for a relatively light stout. Very well-carbonated. Not bad, drinkable despite the chilli. melush (4341) - SPAIN - DEC 19, 2016

22 oz bottle at the ISKTR 2016, Hervanta, Finland. Bottled on 03/23/2016. Courtesy of tiong.Jultsu (1148) - TAMPERE, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2016
Black color with a small tan head.
Mild coffee and roasted malt in the aroma.
Strong roasted malt and moderate chili in the flavor. Quite pleasant. Lacking the chili a bit.
@ISKTR 2016. Nopea kohtalainen vaahto, ruskeanmusta väri. Tyypillinen laimeahko stouttimainen tuoksu, liian kuohuva överihapokas suutuntuma, jälkifiilis lievän poltteinen, kaukana oluesta, lähinnä kolamainen.
