Brown, thick head. Very spicey smell. Skip over this if you can. Bland and more bland. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 29, 2011
Brownish pour, tan head. Aroma is cardboard, spices, brown sugar....flavor? Much the same...pretty bland and something odd and artificial going on. SDalkoholic (2424) - Linda Vista, California, USA - JUL 25, 2009
Bottle from liquor store in North Park. The aroma has a sourness scent to it but also allows for the added spice to still be relevant even over a half year old. Appeared as a brownish tea color with a small fizzy head that disappeared quickly. Flavor is a tart and flat taste with small traces of spice but this has just been sitting too long on the shelf. I can imagine it tasted well spiced and balanced fresh. In my opinion if a brewing company doesn’t take back old stock once it’s expired they should be penalized with the score of honesty. Doubt I will buy this again if I see it during Christmas time for the current year. Drained the rest of the bottle out. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - FEB 24, 2009

Nice winter ale with a good Earthy flavor. The spices where tasty and had a nice finish. This was a great beer for sitting by the fire. It was not too overpowering which made for a nice brew.
