Smooth creamy roasted aromas. Solid black with a caramelized brown head. Big roasted notes in a perfect medium body with a nice creaminess that blends right to the smooth finish. OLIBJORN (4) - ICELAND - MAR 15, 2016 does not count
Really heavy, leathery, toast, smoke, dark chocolat. One of my favorite icelandic souts thirstyrabbit (1849) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 24, 2014
Bottle. Dark body, medium to small tan head. Aroma has roasted pecan nuts, dark chocolate, whiskey barrel. So good. Silky mouthfeel with smooth alcohol warmth. Taste has roasted nuts, well roasted coffee, dark chocolate and some peaty whiskey. Smooth warming finish, the high level of alcohol is well covered and not distracting at all. One of the best Imperial Stouts that I’ve had. MaroonOrange (137) - - JUN 22, 2014
Opaque black. Rich, sweet, smoky aroma. Raisins, prunes, and molasses up front. Smoky peat and cocoa balance out the sweetness at the end. A big well-balanced beer with a lot of flavor. Very rich - excellent! bubbleflubber (2228) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - MAY 18, 2015
Pours an opaque black with a one-finger choco-tan head that reduces to thin ring lacing. The nose is of sweet malt, heavy chocolates and barley. Sweet flavors of caramel, milk chocolate, alcohol astringency, semi-sweet chocolates, extremely light espresso, lactose sugars and finishes with a licorice/Kahlua close. The flavors are absolutely beautiful, well-integrated, complex for days, and sweet, like pipe tobacco integrated with Dove chocolates. The mouthfeel is luscious and velvety, thick with a full body and milky silk palate. Great, great Impy Stout here, and will definitely stock up when I find more of these. Just gorgeous. Absolutely luscious. Extremely tasty. Superbly put together. What more can I say? Perfect!

It’s called an Icelandic stout, if this what stouts taste like in Iceland I need to put Iceland on my list of places to visit. Very rich stout, coffee flavors, smooth. This is a great stout! vadie (1256) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 28, 2015
Excellente. Kavu (4890) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 24, 2015
0,15l on tap @ Olut Expo 2015. Pours very dark brown with a high brown head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with chocolate and coffee. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, liquorice and hops. Exquisite. JK (6201) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2016
Bottle, purchased in Minneapolis. Dark beer and very low carbonation. The head is gone in seconds. Aroma has some alcohol, anise also, and burnt grain. Flavor has some complexity. More anise, which works very well in this beer, some coffee and chocolate character, Roasted malt but also a lot of sugar. Thick, full palate. Anise is especially strong in the aftertaste. I really like the flavor and the palate, and this is one of the better imperial stouts I have had anywhere. suurjuust (3569) - ESTONIA - MAY 7, 2014
Pitch black beer, brown head. Nose is milk chocolate, roast, malt. Flavor is chocolate, roast, coffee, some licorice, a touch of alcohol. Dry finish with chocolate notes. Very enjoyable. Shared by martjoobolut, thanks!
