Apothéose de fin de soirée avec ce Stout d’une puissance et d’une richesse impressionnantes, épais, crémeux mais digeste, une bière de Viking. mcberko (18977) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 22, 2015
330mL bottle, courtesy of haukur (thanks a lot), pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose is intense, with lots of dark fruits, roasted malt, and dry cocoa. Flavour follows through, with heavy dark fruits and roasted malt. A lot fruitier than I generally care for in an impie stout, but this is very tasteful. Great stuff. Bottle via trade with Gunnarolis. Thanks. Pours black with a off white head. Thick and syrupy with some woody notes. Lots of licorice and coffee. Vinous. Low carbonation. Really slick. A tasty one for sure. gbe75 (134) - ICELAND - MAR 25, 2012
Made by the same brewer who made Ölvisholt Lava. Surtur is more lighter and with probably higher drink-ability. Sound a bit strange. Good foamy head which lasts and the taste is a bit creamy with the oil and burnt tire one recognizes! Thoor84 (67) - ICELAND - FEB 20, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2012 Black with brown head. Oily texture, roasted malt, hint of coffee, dark chocolate, little smoke, very complex but very very good. By far the best one ever brewed in Iceland.
