Tunnuþroskaður Surtur er einstakur í röð íslenskra bjóra; dimmleitur Imperial Stout sem hefur verið agaður í frönskum eikartunnum.

Surtur er fyrsti íslenski bjórinn sem fær þessa konunglegu meðferð. Í tunnunum hefur ólgandi krafturinn náð hinu fullkomna göfuga jafnvægi við einstaklega flókið eikarlagt koníaks- og kakóbragðið, með angan af vanillu og kókos.

Tunnuþroskaður Surtur tekur þér fagnandi á þorranum – en eldist líka eins og fínasta koníak!

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2016 Motor oil black. Huge aroma of wood, cognac, vanilla. Some toast, herbs.. very complex aroma and pleasant. Brutally hits you on the tongue, tiny hints of smoke, but huge malts, stickyness and oak. You can almost tell what brand of cognac was in the barrels. Very complex. Although being a powerhouse of 13% abv, this was never over the top. It´s still quite delicate. One to savour and age more

Pours pitch black and looks silky smooth in the glass. Small - almost non-existent tan’ish head. The aroma is roasted malts, vanilla, and cognac. The taste is again vanilla, a bit of coffe, dark chocolate and maybe even a hint of smoke. Has great amounts of lovely cognac barrel character. Definitely the best icelandic beer and maybe even one of my favourite beers ever.

Bottle, thanks Guðmundur. Dark chocolate, cognac and peppery licorice aroma. Black, low head. Spicy chocolate entry, licorice cocoa beans, roast, coconut, vanilla/oak notes, cognac burn in the back of the troat. Mellow smooth mouthfeel. Fullflavored but well balanced and dangerously sipable, very nice.
