Very dark, coffee color - full rich body - staying head - effervescent nose - soft velvet feeling in the mouth - luscious. Malt character with a hoppy aftertouch. Monks used to fast on this type of beer for 40 days! No food, only beer.

Dark pour with a nice head. Aroma and taste of sweet malts. A thin body. Not much there.

promontor (153) - HUNGARY - JAN 14, 2017
0.33l bottle from Lidl. Dark brown ruby body, moderate beige head, bit sparkling. Cocoa aroma. Taste is way too light for a dubbel, sweet like coke. Some caramel, little bit of roasted malt. Mild sweet aftertaste with well hidden bitterness. Fairly strong carbonation, like coke. Not convincing, drinkable but way too simple.

330ml bottle at home served cool in a Hoegaarden snifter. Deepest ruby with a thin tan skim. Earthy yeast and cherry aroma. Fruity flavours , bit of leather, chocolate, and lurking vegetal element. Silky mouthfeel, Tasty

Bottle from Lidl. Pours chestnut with a thin cream head. Aroma of toast and pepper. The taste is toffee, light peppery spice and a touch of pear drop. Quite easy drinking. Nice.

From a recent mixed Van Steenberge 6 pack, nice! Different label than in this photo and listed as 8%. Bottle labeled "12 EO 13:01." Pours brown with head and lace. Aroma of dark malts, dark candy sugar. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of caramel, malt balls, light alcohol, chocolate, carob. Overall big, bold, sweet with a rough edge.

Lots of tan head. A light dubbel with very mild malts, some green tea kind of character. Decent but not much flavor.

0.33 l bottle. Pours brown with thick head, of which a thin layer remains for long. Nice fruity notes in aroma undertoned with some yeastyness and slight alcoholic scents. The same notes are present in taste, with some additional toffee and bread. Relatively short finish, soft carbonation, well hidden ABV. Nice.

kapusil (1432) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 3, 2016
0.33l bottle. Dark ruby/brown body, off-white head. Aroma and taste of caramel, toast, cocoa and smoke. It has a bit sour grainy character to it too. Nothin to write home about, but drinkable.
