Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner
North America’s “Original Steinbier.” Brewed using a traditional German technique, stones heated in our wood fired ovens are lowered into the beer during the brewing process, giving the beer its unique caramel character. Awarded “Three Stars” by Michael Jackson, the world’s leading beer writer. Great with salads and lightly flavored dishes.

2.7
oobawa (1403) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 23, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2017 Caramel bomb, massive malt front giving up bread and esters, with a mildly pungent hop finish. Clean fade laced with apple. Interesting, even if it’s not all that great.

2.2
rdixon77 (2832) - Georgia, USA - APR 25, 2015
Old rating. They may have used a cool method, but tastes more or less like a generic sweet amber ale. Caramel, butter, dry. Drinkable but utterly forgettable.

3.3
mar (5415) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 15, 2015
Amber pour with a white head. Bready malts, toffee, light caramel, and sweet. Light palate, toffee, caramel, could be a bit thicker, nice finish.

jackl (8071) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 12, 2014
Keg @ Boscos, LR. Gold pour with a small head. Nose is dominated by diacetyl. Wow. Nasty. Taste is honey and butter. Weirdly slick. Massively unappealing.

2.6
Travlr (24784) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 21, 2014
Draft in Little Rock. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma of straw. Taste is sweet and lager like. Plain.

3.6
onceblind (9666) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 29, 2013
Clear golden with a medium foamy white head. Smells like earthy caramel with a little grassy hop tone behind it. The taste is a little biscuity and a little caramelly with a long dry ish finish, not very bitter but really somethin’ for a caramelly lager type beer.

2.9
ajnepple (6622) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Sampled at GABF 2013. Golden amber appearance with a white head. Light caramel malts, some fruitiness, dry finish. Kind of boring.

2.9
jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Draft at GABF. Pours orange with white head. Nose and taste of caramel, malt, bread and light hops. Lighter medium body.
