From notes. Tasted on 7/1/11 on draft at Bosco’s Nashville. Pours murky yellow gold with a very thick, frothy smooth white head that slowly recedes to thin, even lace. The nose is spicy and earthy belgian yeast with bread malt, a nutty aroma, and a hint of citrus. The flavor is lightly sweet candi sugar with bread, a hint of bitter citrus, the same nuttiness detected on the nose, and spicy earthy Belgian yeast. The body is medium with lively carbonation, and a long nutty, spicy, and slightly earthy finish. Strykzone (7659) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2010
12 oz. unlabeled bottle at Bosco’s Squared in Memphis. You have to ask your server for this one. Clear gold with a small blotchy head. Some sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Moderate carbonation visible. Aroma is not great. Saaz and something else. Reminds me of a farmhouse ale with wheat. Nice and spicy. Belgian yeast, wheat notes, candi sugar. A bit of funk in the taste with cloves and orange arriving late. Hops also make a late appearance. Bottle conditioned and it could use a little more age. Still, I liked it and found it to be very interesting and unique. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 1, 2009
As Belgian Golden Ale with a choice of Trappist or Abbey yeast. This is the Trappist yeast version. Golden yellow, white cover. Aroma is spicy, esters, musty, some fruit, white sugar. Taste is dry, something seems off, just empty, some spicy esters but lacking all around. nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 25, 2009
12 oz bottle at the Nashville location. Poured a hazy yellow color with a huge white, bubbly head. The aroma was very spicy, with pepper coriander, and a yeasty note. The flavor was spicy, with a dry bitter finish. Some of the bottle conditioned beers you get here are wonderful and some are just ok. This is one of the ok ones. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JAN 7, 2009
12oz btl. hazed yellow gold with thin watery looking head. Corrinader, pepper, belgian yeast on the nose. Dry clovish flavor with a medium bitter and a lingering light yeast after flavor. Watery medium bodied, light carbonation. Decent beer carbonation faded very quickly.
