Dark brown with a disappearing beige head. Not much to the nose (maybe served a bit cold). Nice roasted flavor with chocolate and coffee notes and a mild smokey aftertaste. A rather thin body. Nonprovocative.

Medium to dark brown in color. Roasted malts. Some coffee bitterness toward the end. It doesn’t have all that much body, but overall it’s not bad.

Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma was of chocolate and coffee. Flavor followed suit with a sweet chocolate flavor and bitter dark roasted coffee. Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation. Very stout like..

ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - JAN 10, 2005
Nashville. No aroma. Deep red in color. Dark, almost opaque. Looks like dark cherry wine. Sweet flavor, somewhat cloying. Not unlike Isle of Skye, but not quite as good. More malty.

aracauna (3616) - Georgia, USA - JUL 27, 2004
Black ruby body with a nice, lasting pale tan head. The malty aroma is roasty with a hint of smoke. In the flavor, the roast and smoke is joined by a tad of chocolate. This is a very tasty porter from a very interesting little brewpub. They aren’t stretching the limits on IBUs and OGs, but they can really brew a decent pint.

Suttree (6415) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 27, 2004
Reddish black, sturdy tan head. Coffee aroma, coffee flavors, too. Some fruity, apple flavors, too, with a crisp, peppery hop finish.
