COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Alt” means “old” in German and is a reference to the traditional brown ales brewed in Germany before the advent of lagers. This style is still brewed in Dusseldorf. So simply stated, altbiers are German style brown ales. “Original” refers to the fact that this beer, in a slightly different formulation, was in our original line of beers when we opened Tennessee’s first brewpub in Germantown in 1992.

On tap in Memphis. Dry and a bit tannic. Bread crust and just a bit of an earthy hop presence.
