COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep amber color with a chewy mouthfeel. This giant is brewed in the "wee heavy" style of scotch ales & is heavy on the alcohol, caramel & malty sweetness.

Draft at the source. Dark brown color tan head. Caramel aroma. Taste is burnt lightly spiced caramel. Tasty.

Draft at the Nob Hill Public House, served in a flight. Pours a mostly clear amber, toward the dark side of the spectrum, with a small off-white head that settles into a ring and film while lacing the glass. There's a banana note throughout this that threw it off for me. Otherwise, you've got a fairly standard take on the style, with caramel and toffee and toasty malts, brown sugar, earth, and leaves. Medium-bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. A little off but not bad.

Draft at Hidden Tap in Ruidoso. Black with thin light beige head. Rich roasted aroma. Smoky flavor, a bit heavy, nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz single can, purchased at Jubilation Fine Wines and Spirits. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee and a hint of alcohol. Similar flavor, adding moderate malt sweetness over a medium to full body. Rich and pretty tasty overall.

Draft @ Filling Philly’s ABQ. Pretty good malty aroma. Clear, color is dark brownish with a reddish tint. White head that fades, but good lacing. Pretty good malty flavor, appropriate sweetness, not hoppy. Wish the malt flavor was a touch stronger. Med to full bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a pretty good example of a wee heavy! Wish it had a touch more malt flavor, but I liked it!

A smooth scotch ale, good flavor but not quite as malty as I would like. Doesn’t taste as strong as it is.

On tap at brewery. This one walks the line, pretty "all right", but also seems to be missing something. Average pour with big dirty, peaty aroma. Nice feel, but taste is just a tad too sweet. Still on the edge of great, and solid Scotch.

Tap at tap room in Las Cruces pours deep amber hue with a small soapy eggshell head and no lacing. Big malty nose dark fruit big toasted caramel malty notes. Smells right on par with the style leaders. Big bold malty flavors mite alcohol detected and some mild smoke. Very solid offering.

Beer #56 of NM 100. Dirty, and weird molasses flavor. Almost cherry and bourbon finish. Not my favorite offering from Bosque.
