COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Hazzard Ten Ale

Loaded Cannon Ale - If you’re a fizzy yellow beer drinker this is definitely not for you. With an alcohol content of 10% it is the strongest beer brewed in South Africa, the most defining character however is it’s flavour. It is dark red in colour, has a thick creamy head, and a strong malty character. The sweetness has been balanced by adding large amounts of hops to the beer after fermentation, a process called dry hopping. It’s definitely the beer that is the most fun to make.

I made this for my cooler evenings. Please consume with care.

Only available in 340ml bottles.

10% alc/vol. Ingredients - Malted Barley (pale, crystal), Roasted barley, Sugar, Hops (Styrian, Southern Promise, Hallertauer Northen Brewer), Water, Yeast

Bottle from Tops @ Spar, Cape Town. Clear amber pour, thin white head. Aroma full of unfermatable sugars, some caramel. Flavor is overly sweet, a bit alcoholic and one dimensional. More like a malt liquor, without any complexity.

Pours clear ruby colour with small head. Limited head retention. Malty aroma of caramel, treacle, sweet sugary notes. Also a bit of a resinous hop presence. Flavour is very sweet, with a gentle bitterness in support. Not much of an alcohol warmth. Medium-full bodied, average carbonation. Nice as a late-evening beer.

Bottle. Tries this in Franschoek SA. Not a bad little brew but nothing exceptionally special either.

Sista flaskan från fruns resa till Sydafrika. Klar kopparfärgad med ett lågt skum. Doftar mest maltsött. Smakar Portello men med mindre socker och en tråkig beska. Alkoholen slår inte igenom dock vilket förvånar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2017 330ml Bottle: Pours a slightly hazy amber with thin off-white head. Marshmallow, honey and a slight sherry note to this beer. Big malty and belgian type flavours are pronounced. Beer is sweet and full bodied with low bitterness. Carbonation is on the low side. Overall a beer that reminds me of a dubbel.

Does not taste like an american strong ale but rather like a barley wine. Some notes of malt and apple. Decent, but not again. Weak aroma, small head.
