COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A red copper coloured ale with a full bodied roasted barley flavour and a thick creamy head. At last I can say we are almost there with this recipe.

Bottle from Tops @ Spar, Cape Town. Aroma of caramel malts, some sugars, bread and a bit hoppy. Flavor is slightly bitter, malty and with a nice body for such a light brew. Enjoyable and refreshing.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2017 440ml bottle from liquor store Pours clear deep copper coloured with a thin cream head. Low carbonation. Nose: Toffee, dates, dried prune, dark berries. Taste: Caramel, blackcurrent, plum, slightly herbaceous and a tinge of acidity. Palate: Crisp, refreshing with a lingering burnt caramel and some hop bitterness. Finish: Fairly dry Being a low alcohol beer, it is remarkably complex considering how few ingredients would have gone into the brew. Overall an excellent beer and a firm favourite of mine.

Pours clear amber with minimal head. Malt aroma, grain and caramel. The malt lingers on the palate. Not much bitterness. Very light bodied, easy drinking but not very memorable.

Bought this from Tops! Spar. Not a hugh selection, but at least something. Interesting aroma with some malts, but it’s weak. Not bad just not really good or interesting. The flavours are not big enough.

From Banana Jam Cafe, Kenilworth, S.A. Weaker than the beers I usually go for, however, watching whales from Hermanus a few days before it had to be done. Nothing really inspiring here, hints of caramel & malt, light hoppy finish. An O.K. beer on a sunny afternoon, that’s about it.

Bottle at Craft at the Market, Johannesburg
Dark amber color with creamy head. Light caramel aroma and flavor, dryish, weak body; low bitterness without the Hallertau promised; some esters.
Simple but quaffable.
