COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The rich flavors of baklava conjure memories from lifetimes ago when early trade systems oozed around the globe, mixing the delicate ingredients of humanity ever closer together. In places where philosophy and art layered atop advancements in science and industry, it was a recipe destined to rise.

Our first 2017 Stasis Project release is rooted in the bourbon barrel aged version of our World Beer Cup 2016 Silver Medal winning ’Cobaltic Porter.’ Racked over hazelnuts, pistachios, and walnuts then finished with wild honey, this beer is a delicate nod to the innovators and inspirations of ages past.

On tap at Final Gravity. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head and a huge treacle and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied sweet dark molasses flavor, very nutty with a honey finish and a warm alcohol trail. Complex and tasty.

Pours opaque dark chocolate brown with a good tan head. Aroma features tones of molasses, roast malt and chocolate. Flavor echoes the aroma while tossing in some toffee. Mouthfeel presents firm body and peppy fizz. Logically Byzantine.

500 ml bottle via trade. Pours a deep, dark, opaque brown with a finger of soft, frothy tan head that settles into a thick ring and just a wee bit of film around the edge of the liquid, attached to the ring. So this is definitely showing a hint of tart dark fruit, which sucks, because the rest of it seems like it’d be great. Candied nuts, marshmallow, coconut, chocolate, vanilla, whiskey, oak, mild roast - the sour fruit is subtle, but it’s there. Finishes with a big, sweet warm boozy note, and just a wee bit of the off note underneath it all. Full-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Man. Fuck. This would’ve been a classic, I can just tell. Which redeems this, because even with the off note, it’s not bad. Oh well. I hope they do it again so I can get a good one.

Draft to snifter at the week of logic festival. Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is nutty, pistachio and walnut. Taste is straight up eastern European pastry, baklava or patitza. Nutty, brown sugar and doughy sweetness. Some honey sweetness on the finish that becomes stronger as it warms. Unique beer that is really enjoyable.
